A play on the phrase “Mother Tongue” and last name “Tan”, Grandfather’s Tangue is an interview zine on the life of Tan Teong Huat, my grandfather. This interview was conducted in Hokkien and translated to English. Featuring my mother, Sarah, this zine showcases two perspective on his story: from his eyes and his daughter’s.
